LeAnn House, NCTM, of Minnesota, will chair the State Syllabus Task Force. The purpose of this task force is to identify MTNA state affiliates that have syllabus programs, determine the strength of these programs, and develop and recommend to the MTNA Board of Directors a model process that may be used by states to establish a syllabus program. Other members of the task force are Sharon Ard, NCTM, Arkansas; Celinda Hallbauer, NCTM, Texas; and Mark Mrozinski, Illinois. A Diversity Task Force, developed to advise the MTNA leadership of programs and services that should be established to better meet the needs of minority music teachers, is chaired by pianist Leon Bates Leon Bates is one of America's leading concert pianists.
