And the Winners Are ... Tiffany Wright used her health occupations skills to save aclassmate's life after a 1998 shooting of 25 students at her schoolin Springfield, Ore. Cody Valdez, a technology student at Tooele HighSchool in Tooele, Utah, designed a parking matrix to help solve hisschool's traffic and safety problems. These are two of 10 national winners in the Tools for TomorrowAll-American Vocational Student Awards program. More than 3,000 studentsfrom schools nationwide entered the program. The winners were recognizedin late April at an awards ceremony in Atlanta. Wright, a junior at Thurston High School Thurston High School is located in Springfield, Oregon in Lane County. Their mascot is a black colt. ShootingOn May 20, 1998, student Kipland "Kip" Kinkel killed his parents, William and Faith, both Spanish teachers at local high schools. , is a certified nurseassistant and volunteers at a local nursing and rehabilitation centerand hospital.
